Tip of the Month:
June 2008
Before painting new wood or cedar on the exterior of a home, it is recommended that an oil-based primer (preferably one that blocks Tanin Bleed) be applied prior to painting. As a rule of thumb, oil is applied before latex (water-based). The application of a quality oil-based primer over new and/or bare wood will greatly enhance the quality and lastability of the paint application.
